Hi T.Rex

I will strive to leave here some text on the successful marriage of "Klaus" with "Rainer" as well as on the album.

Below is:

"Rainer Bloss", Keyboardist, writer.
Born 1946 in Saxony, Germany. Relocated in 1978 to Western Germany. Collaborated with Klaus Schulze for many years.
Worked as Co-writer for Alphaville since mid-90s.

The Crack In The Cosmic Egg:

Originating from Weimar (former East Germany) Rainer gained his musical training via studies at the German High School for Music in Berlin. At this time he got his first soundtrack commission. He then set up his first student rock band in 1972, and soon their reputation grew. Rainer & Co., were sought out as the backing band for various singers, amongst such work recording two singles with Gisela Dressler. In 1973 Rainer then joined the band Vulcan, and from 1974 he was active as a freelance composer and musician, chiefly working in radio and record production. 1976 saw him join the band WIR (as bass and keyboard player), and after a concert in (West) Berlin's Eisporthalle he decided to stay. In 1979 he formed rock band Extra, and hoping to get a contract with the new fledgling IC label, he meets Klaus Schulze for the first time, and (according to Klaus) they became instant friends. Extra's music wasn't right for IC, however, and Klaus helped the band get a deal with Metronome on the new rock/metal label Reflector.

Impressed by his talent and enthusiasm Klaus took on Rainer as his musical assistant, and introduced him to the world in September 1982. Rainer also added his talents as a classical keyboardist and computer operator on a few albums with Klaus (AUDENTITY, DZIEKUJE POLAND and APHRICA) and (according to Klaus) the DRIVE INN collaboration was actually much more Rainer's project.

His solo albums exhibited an eccentric talent at work, akin to Patrick Moraz or Rick Wakeman in their diversity, with a combination of synth musics that mixed in elements of pop, opera, classical, etc. The later DRIVE INN 2 was the sequel to his collaborative work a year earlier with Klaus Schulze, however it sounded more like TV test-card music!

More recently Rainer has worked in collaboration with Alphaville (a chic ambient techno outfit in the vein of Enigma) and made the album DRIVE INN III, apparently in the same style.

Hi Witchy Cow
Actually this electronic underworld has many dark things to us all. Although I like most of Krautrock pulled over to the progressive and pscodélico, I am always aware that the electronic segment always surprises us with great albums

You know "Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock" ???

To do not know, Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock:

Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock (it would seem that the "Hoock" part of his name was added to differentiate him from lots of other Klaus Hoffmann's in the music world) originates from Duisburg. In his late teens, during the 1960's he trained as a guitarist and a drummer. In 1969 he founded the rock band Archaeopteryx, and in 1971 Impuls who reputedly toured extensively as support for the likes of Nektar, UFO, Earth & Fire, and others. Impuls apparently featured Mellotron, guitars and female vocals, with influences from Pink Floyd, Nektar and Hawkwind. No official recordings exist.

From 1976-1978 Klaus joined the band Alma Ata as their keyboard player, guitarist and lyricist. He claims that they were a much more adventurous act live than on record, and that some Alma Ata concert numbers became the basis of later works developed under his multi-instrumental solo guise as Mind Over Matter. Klaus also worked for a while in music for films and television, and also formed the band Cosmic Hoffmann.

To our knowledge, Klaus first appeared on the scene via some obscure self produced cassettes in the early-1980's issued under his own name (though we've not been able to find concrete documentation of this), before working as Mind Over Matter. He has also more recently worked under his own name in collaboration with others.

From: The Crack In The Cosmic Egg CD-ROM

I admire the sound produced by the musician in all its phases that we have the knowledge. Until now!

More on what else has my attention is "Mind Over Matter"

Actually the project of one Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock, a multi-instrumental talent with a history going back to the 1960's.

Mainly the albums produced in the period 1986-1993, these lead to my esteem !!!

Originally formed as a space-rock band in the 1980's, they disbanded when Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock refocused his efforts as Mind Over Matter. As documented on CD, these claim to feature recordings dating back to the 1970's, but are clearly 1990's product. A typically derivative Teutonic styled cosmic synth-sequencer act, consisting of Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock (guitars, etc.) together with Stephen Parsick (synthesizers, etc.), they should appeal to most fans of the genre wanting a good balance of melody and solos.

Now as to your project as "Cosmic Hoffmann".

We will enrich the topic with some materials for this sensational musician....
