Label de Portland specialisé dans les réeditions.

Au programme, du raw gospel avec des compiles qui confirmeront ta foi en not'seigneur, du blues d'avant guerre hanté, des compiles de musique africaine, des trucs obscurs thailandais et même du art-punk voir post-punk. Bref, que de la qualité, que du vinyl (et aussi des mixtapes vendues uniquement au magasin), des pochettes soignées. Attention pour les collectionneurs, les réferences ne sortent qu'à tirage limité (500-voir 1000 ex) et sont très rapidement epuisées.

Oui, la 1ère edition était même distribué avec un 7" de Bongo Jo, mais je l'ai raté à sa sortie du coup j'ai que la 2ème. Une des plus belles pochettes de ma collection. J'étais tombé dessus par hasard chez Amoeba rds à San Francisco il y a quelques années et depuis cette magnifique trouvaille, je suis devenu mordu de ce label.

Spiritual Singers est aussi très surprenant, avec son gospel accoustique du Congo, Brazzaville, qui convient parfaitement aux sorties d'église.

Les compiles avec des vieux 78 trs comme "Mata la pena", "Brass pins and match heads" ou "strings of pearl" sont sublimes. Des vieux disques issus du monde entier, loin des habituels clichés de la "world" (comme je déteste ce terme...).

En même temps, toutes les prods valent le coup! J'ai mis du temps à les réunir mais ça y'est, j'ai la collec MR. Doit juste me manquer les deux 7" de Red Herring...et quelques dizaines de mixtapes...

Histoire ancienne, le label est respectable. D' autres compiles sont sortis sous licence :
-Orchestre regional de Mopti.
-Orchestre national A de la république du Mali.
